Easy Populate Setup (Zen Cart)

First download and install Zen Cart from this URL: http://www.zencart.com/ – follow the instructions on the site.

You will also need Easy Populate, which you can download from this link: EP_v1.2.5.4.zip

Follow the directions in the INSTALL file to get Easy Populate working with your Zen Cart install.

Configuration Changes

Go into Configuration→Stock. Change the following settings:

Check stock level false
Subtract stock false

Also change Configuration→Product List→Display Product Quantity to 0

Change Configuration→Product Info→Quantity Box Status to 0

Set Catalog→Product Types→Product - General→Show Quantity in Stock to FALSE.

Go into Configuration→Easy Populate. Select “Split File on # Records”. This defaults to 300. You may want to change it something larger, like 1000 or even 2000. This will make uploading the products MUCH less tedious.

Uploading Items

Now you're ready to upload items.

You'll first need to grab our Zen Cart feed here: zencart.txt – right click and save it to a location you can find on your computer.

Select Tools→Easy Populate Go to “Split EP File”. Our datafiles are large and will not upload in one go. Do “browse” and select the zencart.txt feed you've downloaded.

Now you should see the split files listed below. Click on them one by one to insert the items into your database a thousand at a time.

Uploading images

Grab the zipfile of images from the datafeeds page. If you have “wget” installed you can do this:

wget http://www.sextoyclub.com/xml/stc_images.zip

These files need to be uploaded into the image directory of your Zen Cart install, in a subdirectory called “stc_images”. (Unzipping the file should create this directory for you.)

Please let us know how this works for you!
